The Saddest Lie

How are you doing?

Good.

Ninety percent of the time (rough guess) you will get that answer or different variations of the same thing. Sometimes its the truth. If someone asked me right now how I was doing, I’d say good. Although I know I would say the same thing if I was doing bad. Why must we lie so frequently?depresso

Is it because we just want to avoid a serious conversation? Or is it because we feel like we are “doing good” even though underneath it all nothing is good and we are severely depressed. No one wants to admit that kind of thing.

How are you doing?

Well I’m severely depressed.

I doubt you’ll ever get that response.

We are personal beings, yet we have become so impersonal.

Absolutely ingenious and genuine, B! I love it. We’re so fake because we’re so fake!

Reminds me of a speech I gave in High school. I started out saying how is everyone? Then when they all said “good” I rebuked them! Haha it was a fine speech if I remember correctly.

People do like to avoid the personal shit.
