The Mystery

After sleeping in my car last night, (i always wanted to, and finally found a great opportunity), I remembered that I had a great Idea for a blog. Plus I haven’t blogged in awhile, so I’m due.

At home church on Thursday night, Joe taught about the Mystery of Jesus Christ.

The question? Why didnt Jesus just speak clear, why did he always have to speak in riddles?

My question is did the second most powerful being in the universe (Satan) NOT read the Old Testament? Was he NOT very wise? He must not have thought of it being too important since God has something to do with it.

How awesome it is that God had this amazing plan and was able to keep it away from such a powerful being.

The reason Jesus was all about not speaking clear was so that Satan would not understand what the heck he was talking about. He was so successful in this too.

John 3:12-15

12I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. 14Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

Numbers 21:5-9

5 they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the desert? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

6 Then the LORD sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died. 7 The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the LORD and against you. Pray that the LORD will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

8 The LORD said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, he lived.

See?! “So the son of man must be lifted up“. Lifted up on the cross is what he is referring to. Great passage! (this was in mikes chill teaching last night i thought it was cool) If Satan just got one hint of this he would have been able to spoil the plan. Yet Satan was still chillin’ (wherever he chills, in the Passion of Christ, we see him walk around following Jesus constantly, sometimes with little baby demons) laughing and thinking about how good hes going to take down Jesus by crucifying him. What a tard!

Alright, then check this out…

John 19:23-24

23When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

24“Let’s not tear it,” they said to one another. “Let’s decide by lot who will get it.”
This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said,
“They divided my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing.” So this is what the soldiers did.

Psalm 22:13-19

13 Roaring lions tearing their prey
open their mouths wide against me.

14 I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint.
My heart has turned to wax;
it has melted away within me.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;
you lay me in the dust of death.

16 Dogs have surrounded me;
a band of evil men has encircled me,
they have pierced my hands and my feet.

17 I can count all my bones;
people stare and gloat over me.

18 They divide my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing.

That is awesome. Like i said, if only Satan had read and studied the Old Testament, he would have seen these scriptures and would have put an end to the best plan ever made. But dumb naive Satan, aw man what a loser, only realized right after Jesus died, that he had failed.

Hebrews 2:14

…by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—

I dont know where its says that Satan freaks out afterwards, but if you watch the Passion, he flips.

You gotta see this movie and how mad Satan gets!

You gotta see this movie and how mad Satan gets!

This is Satan, in a “hellish” location (from the passion). The camera zooms out fast as Satan looks to sky in anger and disgust!

Oh by the way, good job mike and joe. Your teachings were great!
