Those of you you haven’t seen Ironman, go see it! Its an amazing movie, with amazing special effects. Robert Downey Jr. is a beast! Seriously though he plays that part like a pro. I really don’t think anyone could have done it better. The following is an interpretation I came up with while watching Ironman the second time. Its not mad in depth or anything, but may contain some SPOILERS so there it is - SPOILER ALERT!!! If you continue reading you may find something out about the movie, and get really mad! Or, on the other hand, you could use this blog as a tool to see what I saw when you go and watch this movie.
In the beginning of the movie, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is a really cool rich dude, who is pretty much an a-hole. The movie keeps rolling along and Tony continues to be an a-hole. Tony is somewhere in the middle-east in a hummer, having a good ol’ time with some army dudes. All of the sudden the Hummer in front of them explodes in a fiery mess. The army men get out and instruct Tony to “Stay Right Here” or stay in the car. He does for about 30 seconds until the army men all get shot up. Tony then precedes to get out, and try to get away, when he looks down and one of the explosives he created lies right next to him - BOOM. That just blew him away and he lied there helplessly bleeding.
Tony wakes up with a car battery attached to his new metal heart protector. He finds out he’s actually in a cave with a dude that can speak a lot of languages. I don’t remember this dudes name so I will just call him the Evangelist. During a little snipple and a snapple, Tony has created an Iron suit to escape with, but wait… its not time yet, the bad guys are coming and the suits not 100% just yet. Whatever, the evangelist is going to put his life on the line for Tony and he barely even knows him - or does he.
You see this is where my interpretation comes in. I think this dude I call the evangelist, is actually a Christian. I think during the time Tony and the Evangelist spent together, he reached out to Tony, shared Grace with him, and let him knew even after the terrible things that have occurred in his company, he can be forgiven. Tony then preceded to get saved. Since they were then brothers in Christ, Tony and the Evangelist became really close, they were probably sharing things with each other (Tony - things hes never shared with anyone) and they became good friends.
So like I was saying, the Evangelist goes out to buy Tony some time when he gets dominated, once Tony catches up to him, he wants to help the bloody Evangelist escape with him. The Evangelist was content with the situation, and was ready to die, Tony was sad and said ” come on dude i want you to see your family and what not” but the evangelist replied “dude my families dead, i’m going to go see them now! I wan
t this man let me die!!”. Tony then, seemed to understand, and ditched out!
The rest of the movie, it seemed as if Tony AKA Ironman, wanted only to do good. He worked really hard to complete a suit that would help fight crime. He saved some hostages, and destroyed the weapons the people in the middle east got. His deceiving coworker turned on him, stole his suit idea, and tried to kill tony, but he just wasn’t that good, and tony won.
Now lets just see if the next movie in the series “The Hulk” turns out the same way. That would be awesome if the hulk also became a christian, as unlikely as that is, the Ironman was sweet and if you have not seen it, Go! Go see that mess. Its totally awesome. And I believe completely this theory I just wrote, its so clear….
